What if....
...you could update firmware and
applications over the air?
...you could configure application
and data settings over the air?
...you
could manage
GSM,
CDMA, WiMAX and LTE
devices regardless
of
network ?
...you could painlessly offer new
applications to your customers?
...you could autodetect new devices
or SIM cards on your network?
...you could control mobile
security?
...you could provide better customer
care, faster, at a lower cost?
You can.
InnoPath’s Integrated Mobile
Device Management Server Suite provides
solutions to these and other challenges,
offering a platform serving operators,
enterprises, and consumers, a platform
enabling end-to-end management over
the full lifecycle of the device.
This results in decreased operational
expenses, enhanced top-line growth
and ultimately increased customer
satisfaction and competitiveness.
InnoPath’s
iMDM Server Suite
InnoPath’s Integrated Mobile
Device Management (iMDM) Suite, a
second generation product combining
years of Tier 1 deployment experience
with its first generation MDM and
DUOS servers, provides operators,
enterprises, and handset OEMs with
a scalable foundation upon which they
can deploy a complete set of MDM applications
for their employees and customers.
We provide a single end-to-end management
solution that covers all aspects of
the management of mobile devices,
both featurephones and smartphones,
over the entire lifecycle of the device,
from initial deployment to retirement.
InnoPath’s iMDM Server supports
initial device discovery, device configuration,
the ability to remotely diagnose the
device for problems and download new
firmware if required (FOTA), the ongoing
management of applications including
the overall user interface, as well
as securing the device if lost and
providing a means by which critical
data can be restored. One of the many
powerful capabilities of InnoPath’s
solution is the ability to create
a workflow, merging a set of actions
such as firmware and configuration
updates. Some capabilities, such
as FOTA, configuration and diagnostics
directly impact the bottom line
in the form of OPEX savings, while
new capabilities such as security
and software management are tied
to new revenue opportunities.

InnoPath’s
Solution
InnoPath is unique in offering both
a server and a client solution, drawing
on its client deployments to develop
a more robust, more fully-featured
server, as well as the server driving
client innovation. Instead of simply
bolting together applications, InnoPath
has focused on building an extensible
and scalable platform on top of which
the operator may deploy different
MDM applications. The server offers
industry leading scalability, resiliency,
and flexibility, designed with insight
and experience gained over more than
five years of deployment experience
at multiple Tier 1 operators serving
tens of millions of subscribers. It
may be deployed by network operators
for their consumers or as a hosted
solution for business customers. Alternatively,
it may be deployed as an enterprise
solution by an SI. The modular, scalable
and flexible basic architecture of
the platform helps iMDM support and
drive rapid innovation and integration.
Why iMDM
Integrated MDM provides the operator
or enterprise with the ability to
manage all aspects of a mobile device
throughout the entire device lifecycle.
It permits MDM applications to work
seamlessly together by introducing
workflow management, the orchestration
of various MDM actions. The common
infrastructure reduces redundancies
and maximizes efficiency. Finally,
it provides a common user experience
across all MDM applications.

- iMDM Server Suite
- iMDM Console provides user interface
to iMDM Server for administrative
and customer care tasks
- Network operator systems can integrate
with iMDM Server via WSDL APIs or
JMS
- Self Care allows operators to
quickly develop and deploy easy
to use, highly customizable Self
Care web portals
- Workflows can be created or modified
with the Workflow Designer
- Handoff to Knowledge Base / Rules
Engine for Configuration and Diagnostics
- Database Repository
- Business Logic / Workflow Rules
- Configuration / Notification communications
initiated via SMPP
- Device and server communicate
over HTTP
| Platform |
| Standards Compliance |
Full OMA-DM capabilities
and easy integration with WSDL,
Java APIs and JMS, insuring interoperability
and streamlined deployment. Full
SMPP and SNMP support. |
| Workflow Management |
Permits customization of workflows
across multiple MDM applications,
increasing efficiency and minimizing
the probability of error. |
| Configuration Dictionary |
Maintains all information that
is needed to manage the configuration
of OMA-DM applications on mobile
devices (across device models
and handset vendors). Permits
operator to configure and diagnose
new applications (e.g. Wi-Fi)
without iMDM software upgrade. |
| Multiple Tenancy |
Offers security, data separation,
and SLAs for enterprises or MVNOs
sharing an operator’s server. |
| Administration |
Includes features such as system
customization, throttling and
priority management, comprehensive
access control, policy management
and reporting and logging. |
| High-Availability |
Provides HA-ready configuration
with horizontal and vertical scalability,
as well as deterministic performance
under load and subscriber growth. |
| Automatic Device
Detection |
Detects new devices or SIM swaps
as they are attached to the network.
Upon such detection, operators
can easily trigger mobile device
management actions or a workflow
to perform multiple actions. |
| Integrated
Device Capabilities Repository
leveraging InnoPath’s
Device Capabilities Management
Program (DCMP) |
Maintains a comprehensive and
up-to-date profile of each and
every device model in the operator’s
network. All iMDM applications
refer to the repository to obtain
device capabilities information
before executing device management
actions. |
