InnoPath Software Partners with O3SIS to provide Mobile Device Management Enabled Backup & Restore Solution
Leader in MDM to Demonstrate
New Ability to Provide Remote Recovery as
Part of an End-to-End Security Solution at
Upcoming Symbian Smartphone Show
London, October 15,
2007 - InnoPath
Software, the leader in Mobile Device Management
(MDM) solutions, has entered into an OEM agreement
with O3SIS of Cologne, Germany, to bring to market
a complete Integrated Mobile Device Management
(iMDM) based Backup & Restore solution.
As operators migrate from
early MDM deployments focused on firmware-over-the-air
(FOTA) and configuration management, to a focus
on enabling new revenue generating applications,
the ability to provide end-to-end lifecycle
security management through the iMDM platform
is a key requirement for services that include
Lock & Wipe, Backup & Restore,
and Anti-Virus/Firewall.
“The MDM platform plays a critical role
in lifecycle customer management,” said
David Ginsburg, VP of Marketing and Product Management
at InnoPath. “The Backup & Restore
solution rounds out a comprehensive security
solution based on our industry-leading iMDM Server
Suite.”
A leader in the Backup & Restore space,
O3SIS serves more than twenty implementations
in production with leading operators including
Vodafone, T-Mobile, O2 and many others. By partnering
with O3SIS, InnoPath is able to offer consumer
and enterprise customers of operators the Backup & Restore
capability as another advantage of its iMDM suite.
This results in security of data storage, reduced
churn and minimized revenue loss when devices
are lost, stolen, or upgraded, and convenience
through a remote over-the-air approach.
“Mobile Backup & Restore provides
peace of mind for the end-customers of mobile
operators and builds on the importance to drive
additional revenue-generating voice, messaging
and data applications” said Bernd Rützel,
Chief Sales Officer at O3SIS.
By enhancing InnoPath’s iMDM Lock & Wipe
capabilities with Backup & Restore, a lost
or stolen device can be locked and secured in
an instant, or wiped clean altogether with the
ability to restore and retrieve data at another
point in time if the phone is found or the subscriber
buys a replacement. This ability also ensures
that if the device falls into the wrong hands,
it’s nothing more than a brick.
IDC’s recent report*
recognized InnoPath as the MDM leader in its
ability to gain market share and alignment
with market opportunities. InnoPath has also
recently been acknowledged by Inc. Magazine
as an Inc. 500 recipient.
InnoPath and O3SIS will
be jointly demonstrating a complete server
and client backup & restore
solution on S60 at the upcoming Symbian Smartphone
Show, 16-17 Oct in London. Additional information
