management, today announced that
Shahid Shoaib, senior research
engineer, for InnoPath, has been
named vice-chair of the Open Mobile
Alliance (OMA) Interoperability
Device Management Synchronization
(IOP-DMSYNC) sub-working group
. In this key position, Shoaib
will help drive forward interoperability
testing, ultimately providing the
mobile device industry with standards
initiatives that promote deployment
of rich mobile applications and
services that are interoperable
across devices, geographies, service
providers, operators and networks.
As part of the InnoPath research
team and now vice-chair of the OMA
IOP-DMSYNC group, Shoaib will be
an integral player in helping ensure
data management interoperability,
and in bringing standards initiatives
to the mobile industry. Shoaib’s
duties will include managing the
work activities of the OMA IOP-DMSYNC
group, overseeing general interoperability
projects, and facilitating an efficient
release process and a stable test
environment.
